Unless your father is a diabetic there is nothing to be gained by eating a sugar free chocolate. In fact it may cause him problems. Most of the sugar free chocolates on the market are made with an artificial sweetner called Maltilol or Xylitol. These sweetners cause a severe laxative effect in many people.
If your father doesn’t take medication for his arthritis pain he should consult his doctor. There are many drugs available to treat arthritis pain and the doctor could recommend one that will treat his pain very effectively.
Yes, he can eat diabetic chocolate
There is a chocolate for people with arthritis called “Xocai” chocolate. You can find it by typing that into google. It contains the acai berry, which is a very powerful antioxidant. We have had patients who have taken supplements containing this berry along with glucosamine and chondroitin who have gotten excellent results. You have to be very careful with the diabetes, but most of these chocolates have less than 4 or 5 grams of sugar per serving.
it’s probably not the best thing to do but you never know it varies from person to person
i don’t think there is arthritic chocolate, and i’m also not certian that diaetic chocolate would make any difference, but give it a try, you never know otherwise
