Do I Possibly Have Symptoms Of Diabetes?

June 30th, 2010 § Tags: , , Posted in Diabetes § § 3 comments

My father’s entire side of the family has had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. My mom had only her grandmother diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Recently, every time I scrunch up my feet, they feel stiff, as if I’m getting a cramp in my foot. I’ve also been feeling tired, but I don’t know if that’s a big prominent symptom. Can you tell me what it is?
Thanks in advance :)

You don’t sound like you’re diabetic. Yes, fatigue is a symptom of diabetes, but it’s a symptom of a lot of other diseases and conditions, too, so it’s not diagnostic. Type 2 does tend to run in families.
If you’re seriously worried, then ask your doctor about it. DON’T take a reading from a home glucose monitor, you really need to have a doctor order a specialized test that does more than an instant blood sugar check, there’s a test that can tell what your blood sugars have been running for the past several months that’s far better for diagnosing diabetes.

A foot cramp has absolutely nothing to do with diabetes.
If the people in your family developed diabets when they were older, then you don’t have to worry about this issue until you are their age.

Mostly you are ok now,Your symptoms are not diagnostic for diabetes but if you have the signs Triple poly(excess than normal) symptoms ,means polyurea (urination),polydipsia(thirsty) and polyphagia(hungriness) you should keep attentive, some simple lab test on blood Will clear it. the typeII occurs usually(but not always) at age 40 or above and named adult diabetes.
However The type II is more controllable, and the choice treatment is pills and it usually don’t need insulin injection, in addition low sugar diet and exercise is very helpful And even enough for the most part.
    Good luck
