Don’t eat 2 hours before bedtime. If you finish your supper 2 hour before bedtime you should not be hungry. And for many people a snack before bedtime can cause or at least contribute to diabetes. All health adviser suggest just what I have told you. If fyou don’t believe me ask Oprah!

I think a snack is good for a diabetic (or to avoid becoming one) as long as it isn’t loaded with sugar. If you can eat popcorn for example or celery & peanute butter or a low carb yogurt which I can’t find anymore but this helps you relax & keep your blood sugar level at night.

  • Jancie says:

depends on your definition of small snack? A recent study found out that eating at night but staying within the caloric range needed to maintain weight does not add weigh or make you heavy. But no a small snack does not increase your risk for diabetes so long as it is a healthy snack like fruit.

I am a diabetic and I am supposed to have a small snack before bed to keep my blood sugar from dropping overnight. So I would think that it would depend upon how healthy your snack is. If it is something with some protein and maybe just a little sugar I see no problem. You know like a container of yogurt, or some cheese and a small piece of fruit. or something like that. If it is a bag of cookies or a big bag of chips it might not be the best thing for you health wise.

  • Lisa M says:

no it wont. unless you have a really different perception of a small snack, but even so, no.

  • Noccie says:

    No. Enjoy your snack.
