Life Expectancy Of A Person With Diabetes?

If they are so careless to be getting their blood level to 498 the answer is pretty much anytime they get away from their insulin. your friend is litterally killing themself, and should be adivised that they will not likely live out the decade. Need to get on them about it at all costs, even if it causes the loss of a friendship, would you rather have a healthy enemy or a dead friend?
There’s really no way of knowing – too many factors. My guess is this is your spouse? First of all, please understand that diabetes is extremely complicated and difficult to get a handle on where to start. We’re trying to mimic as best we can a complicated process that you take for granted. I’ve been at it 26 years and I still don’t have it totally down because my body’s needs are constantly changing.
Some common sense habits for this person to focus on are quitting smoking, getting 30 min. or more exercise on most days, and eating lower-carb meals (<30-35g per meal) to keep BG’s under control. However, they may also need oral medications if carb-control isn’t enough, or blood pressure meds, or any number of things. But it’s up to them to get help, you can’t nag them into it. Show them this letter and let them know that meeting with a diabetes educator through their doctor’s office is one of the best things in the world. They spend adequate time with a patient, help identify patterns and make recommendations. After a few months, this will help them feel so much better day to day. More energy, more sense of control.
There is no way of telling really. None of that will kill him exactly, but can cause conditions that will – heart, kidney disease, lung cancer etc. So it depends of if/when s/he gets diagnosed with a life threatening condition, which probably won’t be long if he treats his health like that. My guess would be around 10 years at most.
they might not live long.
Even though diabetics and eat almost whatever (in MODERATION), you really should exercise…and i really don’t think that smoking, drinking, and diabetes mix well together…
1 year,47 days 16 hrs and 22 minutes
i think he can live up to 10 or 15 years or even 20 years if he excercises…And also if he eats a good diet…
Just advice your friend..Its for his own good. =D
diabetes doesnt usually kill unless you ignore it, but with that lifestyle ill say 60
D:
50? 60?
i would suggest in about 5 years she/he would pass away.
if it gets worse then not so long but if they controll it and get better there is no telling how long he will live
