Hi I just took my gluclose test and the doctor called me and told me that my sugar was very high and my iron was llow so now i have to take my iron pills 2 a day…and i have to go in for a three hour blood test. does this mean for sure that i have Gestational Diabetes??
Has anybody had this?
if soo how did it affect you and your baby?
is there any MAJOR concerns that i should have or questions for my doc

dId you happen to eat before your test..
Did you fast fo 9 hours?
Cause if you didnt then that could REALLY affect your test results.
I had to go in for the three hour test the second time cause I didn’t fast before my test…
i know this really doesn’t answer your question, but i was just hoping to find an answer to my question looking at your answers, im 27 weeks also and just went yesterday for a 3 hour test, i got stuck so many times i cried and i had to drink a disgusting sugar drink. all because i ate ice cream with chocolate syrup, had some chocolate milk, and some sweet and sour teryaki chicken right before i went to my doctor, so im waiting for my results. maybe you ate something before your first test that may have had a lot of sugar, like i did. but good luck though.
I am 32w3d pregnant with Gestational Diabetes..I just found out 4 weeks ago..I even have a question posted on this..Take a look at my question
My doctor put me on gestational diabetes Diet…And i have to take Glyburide two times a day 30 minutes before meals and test my blood sugar 4 times a day….when i wake up test…And then two hours after each meal….I got many great answers..check it out..
You may just had a bad day…on your one hour test…when i had the 3 hour test they were sure then i have it..good luck
If you have Gestational Diabetes…your doctor will start seeing you for a little every week and you will be put on a gestational diabetes Diet…have to test your sugar and keep a log to show you doctor…..Meds will be given you too
I had to take iron pills with my last pregnancy. I don’t know yet if I have GD this time (I dint last ime). but I know my MIL had high sugar levels because of what she ate for breakfast (pancakes) and went to the 3 hour test and her sugar levels were normal so no ti doesnt mean you have it for sure.
