Constantly Thristy ! !!?

Right when I describe these symtoms, you are all going to say diabetes but I have been tested for that and everything was okay…. I was tested a few months ago, before I really had major symtoms (i was just tired) – I get tested randomly as my uncle on my Daddys side has it, and my Mom has hypoglycemia..
I am thristy all the time, even right after a drink. I have gone off fizzy drinks as they leave me with a horrid test and smell in my mouth. I get tired really easy, and can sleep from 7pm right through to 6.30am.. and more but i dont let myself. I am getting random headaches but they only last 10mins, once I have a drink they go away. I feel weak and shakey if I dont eat and drink every so often and sometimes can even feel myself nodding off at my desk at work – resulting in a purchase of a energy drink – after 4/5 sips I am fine again.
These symtoms are all coming and going, I cant tie them to dates/times etc…
What the hell is going on?! Could it just be my age (18)?

  • Have you been tested for food allergies/intolerance, as this may be another avenue to explore ?
One of the biggest problems with our modern diet is wheat, the amount of sprays that are put on and coated with have an enormous effect on our bodies.
Try coming off all wheat products, try eating only organic foods for a while, and take a Vit C supplement, 1000mg a day.
Hope this will give you relief from your problems.
    Good health.

You are correct about one thing: the first thing I thought of was diabetes. Whose symptoms definitely match what you are describing. Get another blood sugar test, and repeat from time to time; sugar levels vary radically depending on proximity to meals and exercise, but anything over 200 is highly suspect.

Mono test also you could have sleep apnea. Try drinking just water about 4 to 5 bottles of cold water a day. Also if your not eating right get a good multivitamin and take one every day for a week and see if that helps. Other than that you would need to go to your doctor and have some tests run for mono and sleep apnea.

My eldest daughter experienced symptoms very similar to yours plus extremely painful periods and was diagnosed as having Polycystic Ovaries, after having an ultrasound scan and other tests. The treatment is the same as for Diabetes I’m afraid, she has to take Metformin daily. If your GP has ruled out Diabetes I suggest you keep going back until they diagnose the problem. :0)

Are you eating normally otherwise? Presumably the doc has done every kind of blood test to determine hormone issues, etc? It’s not ‘your age’ that’s for sure. You need to go back to your doctor and ask for further advice.

That’s weird cause I never drink and I never get thirsty.

you are right about diabetes. i had 3 tests in a year for it and it only showed properly on the 3rd test. go back and ask for the test again

  • MZ BIGG REDD says:

it could be sleep apnea or too many hormones from the b/c pills. i know b/c pills give u headaches. hyperglycemia is also an option its the opposite of hypo.? just some thoughts… i hope u feel better…

  • Robin Darkmere says:

This sounds to me like you are anaemic (low red blood cell count). You need to be tested for this and have you Kidney function, Liver Function and Thyroid tested as well.

  • ☠ angie ☠ says:

hmm, thats strange. maybe you are hypoglycemic?

If you were in Africa i would have said MALARIA. Man i will pray for you.

My twenty three year old daughter has suffered the same symptoms since she was fifteen as she is getting older they are getting worse and more frequent, I was told the same nothing wrong, but now my daughter actually passes out for a few seconds. So I went with her to the doctors, and spoke the thedocter as I am worried now . He tested her eyes, and did her blood sugar level it was seven point one which is border line. he has sent her for a glucose tolerance test and for a head scan, That is because I asked for one Her symptoms are headaches always thirsty , always tired always going to the loo and she feels shaky .
So do the same with your Doctor tell him you are not satisfied and want a second opinion,

  • murphywi says:

Sorry, but only one person can sort this out for you, and thats your G.P. If the problem is as persistant as you say, then you should go back to your G.P. and ask for more extensive tests. I really does sound like diabetes.i.e. the constant thirst and tiredness, but, it could also possibly be thyroid problems, or, if you are taking certain types of medication, thse could also produce similar symptoms. It may even be something as simple as an allergy to something in your everyday life!
See your G.P., and ask for more tests.
