I Keep Falling Asleep When I Come Home From School?

well basically i normally come home from school and half the time of the week ill watch a bit of tv to relax and end up falling asleep until about 8pm that night. i stay up late a lot to finish extra homework and go to school the next day so that may contribute to it and my family also has a history of diabetes if that helps in your answer. However, if i have work that night i dont feel tired and when i come home, i can still stay up late completing homework and feel the same. I mostly just let myself fall asleep since i concentrate best with hw late at night (like right now) but i fear it may not be healthy for my body.

Come home and take a shower. That should help. Also eat something with carbohydrates. Like a glass of milk and some cookies or a granola bar or a PB&J.
Use willpower if you have to! Do not allow yourself to get back in that bed till nighttime. That way you might get 9 hours of sleep every night, and you won’t even get tired in the afternoon. It sounds like your body requires 8-9 hours of sleep, which is totally normal.
Best of luck, and remember, WILLPOWER!!! ;)

Easy, you say you have trouble because you stay up late doing your homework after you sleep, try this out. When you come home, fill your self up with carbohydrates and so on, things to keep you up a while more. From then on go directly to homework. I know no one wants to after a whole day of school, but it’s the best option. You will definitely get your homework done, then you can get a full nights sleep instead of, a few hours after school and a few hours at night when it is most needed for the next day. Keep this going and it will just become natural, so you wont feel tired when you come home.
