Itested my daughter bllod fasting it was 92. Is that okay? I’m type 2. She has been having alot of sores that won’t heal.

Answer
Yes, a blood sugar reading of 92 is great, but that does not mean that your daughter is not diabetic. In order to determine this for sure, consult with your doctor and have an A1c test done on your daughter. As a type 2, you know that the A1c test will give you an average for about 120 days. This will help determine whether or not your daughter’s levels are running high consistently or if the 92 that you got on your own was an indicator of normal blood sugar levels.
Other blood test will also help determine whether or not she is diabetic.

While decreased healing is one symptom of diabetes, it could also be the symptom of something else… infection, etc. If the sores are there longer than they should be, then get them checked out by a doctor ASAP to avoid serious complications (infection, scarring, etc.).

Good luck and best wishes…

Diabetes is typically diagnosed when fasting blood glucose levels are 126 mg/dl or higher. If shes at 92 mg/dl thats normal. However, I am concerned about her sores that won’t heal. Diabetics have slow healing because high blood sugar causes the immune system to work poorly.
    Other symptoms of diabetes include:
    • Lack of energy
    • Increased hunger
    • Increased thirst and urination
    • Weight loss
    • Blurred vision
    • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
Take her to a physician to get her checked out. The sooner the better.

Her blood sugar seems fine, but multiple testings will help you to be certain. You may want to take her to the doctor regarding the sores. They may be a symptom of something else.

Take her to the DOCTOR! this is a hereditary disease. She should be checked every year.
